A Message from Tom
Welcome to the first broadcast of our electronic
newsletter - The Aquatic Adventurer
The Aquatic Adventurer will provide a monthly overview of
AquaticAdventures
and the Aquatic Adventures Team's activities and projects, information on behaviors, anatomy and research of marine mammals. Ocassionally, we may send an additional electronic broadcast to inform you of specials and last minute availability. I hope you enjoy what we have to offer, and as always, any suggestions on how we can improve what we do is always appreciated.
We've come
a long way in the last sixteen years with the
understanding of the behaviors of whales, dolphins
and the large marine life we encounter.
I'm really excited about the direction we're
now headed, our re-branded web site (specialty
expeditions still under construction), blog, our two new custom built tenders - Escort/Challenger,
Aquatic Adventures Travel, new destinations (Patagonia,
Norway with more to come), new hotel and equipment alliances,
film production, the
AquaticAdventures Team
and the formation of a non-profit organization
to support research and education of marine mammals.
None of this would have been possible without the help
of all the people I've had the pleasure of working
with over the years, the clients who have particapated
in my expeditions, many of them becoming friends,
who continue to support our efforts to learn
as much as we can about these wonderful creatures and help with their survival in the future. I would like to thank the marine mammals and marine life we've encountered for allowing us to interact in their world and everyone of you for your continuing support.
See you on your next Aquatic Adventure - Tom Conlin

Behaviors/Anatomy
A tail breach is when the whale raises the majority of its body out of the water straight back and up into the air and then twisting its body as it returns to the sea. To learn more about behaviors/anatomy of the humpback whale
