How the small act site works

The Small Act site is designed to provide three items: very simple tools for doing normal daily things (searching the Internet, etc.), great daily reminders on how we can all help make this world a little better, and a platform to increase the awareness of wonderful charities that are solely focused on addressing social issues.

As we grow, we will be introducing more tools and opportunities for our site users and community members to raise more funding for the charities without having to donate their own money. Some may require an extra 30 seconds here and there, but we are focused on finding small niche areas that will simply replace current daily habits and not incur any additional effort.

Every day is a new chance to take a positive step. We believe that continual small changes that our community can make will be able to truly move mountains of social inequity and injustice. It is not big events that we are interested in, but seemingly insignificant adjustments that we can all make together, and actually make into habits that we will be able to keep with us. Our daily Small Acts are just reminders or little nudges some may say, to do the things we have heard about and want to do, but have forgotten about in our fast paced lives.

Communication is the key to opening up new doors and finding solutions to this world's issues. Every month we are featuring a new cause (Global Warming, Animal Protection, etc.), and within that month we will have specific charities that address various issues related to that cause (i.e. Wildlife Warriors, ASPCA, etc.). We are also working to add other online collaboration tools (blogs, forums, etc.) that will allow everyone to collaborate with others on the issues that they find nearest and dearest to their own heart. The communication and collaboration tools are focused on bringing like minded people together to find solutions. It is not about debating whether these issues exist or how important they are. Those who do believe in particular causes will have a positive and supporting environment where they can work with others to find the best paths to resolution.
