CONCEPT 2 & 2a REVISED
The black background was put in place so better see the detail of the colors used not necessarily as a background to the logo itself. More or less just showing it off more, making the colors "pop" :). Here are the requested revisions.

I spent the day working on two variations of a "T" icon that is more "trendy" with some added gradients to give dimension to the icon.

CONCEPT 1 - VARIATIONS
Here are the requested revisions.I didn't work on color combinations too much, instead just chose to use colors to just get an idea. We can work on colors more later if you like the idea of a specific color combination. The last one is with the "t" opened up to the left a little more.
Give me a few days and I'll see if I can fit into the (somewhat conflicting, LOL) keywords a little better. I get what you are looking for as a contrast to this design. I hate to fall into the "trendy" logo category because I like my logos to stand the test of time, whereas trendy designs will need to be updated after a few years.

CONCEPT 1
We went with your tagline, "The icon of travel technology" with the key word being "icon". We also liked your statement, which helped in design/color selection, "Want it to be strong with an air of confidence/arrogance. Clean and simple and powerful like our software".
