As stated last week, when I find content from my site being used on the web without my permission I will be posting it to my blog.

Once again, from my much loved Mint Stats, I found another instance of my freelancing tips being reposted in Spanish:

It is flattering that someone would rewrite my Freelancing Tips in Spanish for those who speak the language, but I don’t find it something that is ok to do without asking permission from me - or even just ask me to repost in a translated version that THEY provide to me.

My tips are a very popular page on my site, and even have shared them on the web already when permission was requested, and proper credit was given so I guess that it why I wanted to post this:

Upgrade to PHP5

BooHoo!

I guess I will have my work cut out for me! I just got the support ticket from WebQuarry answered, and they said:

It isn’t that it is messed up but that we moved to php5 and it handles includes a little differently.

Specifically, you can’t give external paths like that to an include file anymore. Give a relative path instead.

So include(http://www.zenfulcreations.com/inc/navigate.php)
would become something like:
include(/inc/navigate.php)

This is going to take me quite a while to recode all these pages in my site to use a relative path. Grrrrrr!

Argh!

I am getting a bit tired of everyday, my content turning up on someone else’s website! Since this is such a regular occurrence, from now on EACH and EVERY site that rips anything from the pages of Zenful Creations, will have their theft known and moment of shame here on my blog.

DATE FOUND: February 26th 2008
COMPANY: Moon Viper Web Services
OWNER: Eric Wood - moonviper.com@gmail.com
URL: http://moonviper.com

Stolen Content:

Eric Wood at Moon Viper Web services has stolen content from my website, and is reproducing it as his own. He completely ripped apart my Site Planning worksheet, and used it to create many pages of content:

Page Layout

http://moonviper.com/Planning_A_Site/2organization.htm
http://moonviper.com/Planning_A_Site/5navigation.htm
http://moonviper.com/Planning_A_Site/6companyinfo.htm

http://moonviper.com/Planning_A_Site/8responseforms.htm
http://moonviper.com/Planning_A_Site/9hosting.htm
http://moonviper.com/Planning_A_Site/10promotion.htm

Eric took my stock photo list, and even the little ‘new’ icons:

He also took resource pages (not sure of exactly how many yet):
Best Colors
http://moonviper.com/Planning_A_Site/web_best_colors.htm which is the exact wording from this page on my site
http://www.zenfulcreations.com/resources/design/web_best_colors.htm

I have emailed a cease and desist order, and have am prepared to contact GoDaddy, his host and registrar in the event he does not comply.
